Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 30, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Fix or Replace Auto mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

Important — please read: Fix or Replace Auto provides general financial estimates to help you think through a repair-versus-replace decision. It is not mechanical, financial, legal, or tax advice, and it does not replace a qualified mechanic's inspection or a licensed financial advisor. You should independently verify all figures — including tax, title, and fee estimates, which may use nationwide averages rather than your exact state or dealer — before making a purchase or repair decision.

1. Description of Service

Fix or Replace Auto helps you compare the estimated cost of repairing your current vehicle against the estimated net cost of replacing it, based on information you provide and estimates from third-party data sources. The Service calculates a recommendation and provides a plain-language explanation of that recommendation.

2. Not Professional Advice

All recommendations, valuations, and calculations provided by the Service are estimates for informational purposes only. They are based on the information you enter and on third-party data (including vehicle market valuations and nationwide average tax/fee estimates) that may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate for your specific situation. You are solely responsible for any decision you make regarding repairing, replacing, or purchasing a vehicle.

3. Your Account

You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account, and to keep your login credentials confidential. You're responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

5. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Supabase (infrastructure), Anthropic (AI-generated explanations), MarketCheck (vehicle valuations), NHTSA (VIN decoding), and, if you choose to use them, Apple and Google (sign-in). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of these third-party services, which are governed by their own terms.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, and underlying software, is owned by Fix or Replace Auto and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that any estimate, valuation, or recommendation will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific circumstances.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fix or Replace Auto and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any financial loss, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any estimate, valuation, or recommendation it provides.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we believe you've violated these terms. You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.

This is a draft prepared to support app store submission and early testing. It should be reviewed by a qualified attorney — particularly the governing-law clause above — before the app is publicly released.
